The IP protection level system was drafted by the International IEC Standardization Organization, which classifies electrical appliances according to their dustproof and moisture-proof characteristics. The IP protection level consists of two digits, with the first digit indicating the level of dust prevention and protection against foreign intrusion; The second number represents the degree of sealing against moisture and water infiltration, with a larger number indicating a higher level of protection.
In the design and manufacturing process of motor products, the appropriate protection level will be selected according to the actual operating conditions of the product. The protection level is a clear issue for motor manufacturers. However, for end users of motors, they often make unreasonable choices due to cognitive issues, ultimately leading to serious electrical failures of the motor.
IP23 motors are a common type of protective motor and are not suitable for use in environments with high dust and humidity. According to statistics from repair shops, most IP23 motor windings accumulate a lot of dust, and some dust even contains a large amount of conductive material, which is fatal to the motor windings. Therefore, we would like to remind our end customers of Hengli Motors to communicate fully with the users to prevent accidents from occurring.
1、 The meaning of the IP dustproof level code for Hengli motors
0- No protection, refers to no special protection for people or objects outside.
1- Prevent solid foreign objects with a diameter greater than 50mm from entering; Prevent the human body (such as the palm) from accidentally coming into contact with the internal parts of electrical appliances, and prevent the intrusion of larger objects (diameter greater than 50mm).
2- Prevent solid foreign objects with a diameter greater than 12.5mm from entering; Prevent human fingers from coming into contact with the internal components of the electrical appliance and prevent the intrusion of medium-sized (diameter greater than 12.5mm) foreign objects.
3- Prevent solid foreign objects with a diameter greater than 2.5mm from entering, and prevent tools, wires, and similar small foreign objects with a diameter or thickness greater than 2.5mm from entering and coming into contact with the internal parts of electrical appliances.
4- Prevent solid foreign objects with a diameter greater than 1.0mm from entering, and prevent tools, wires, and similar small foreign objects with a diameter or thickness greater than 1.0mm from entering and coming into contact with internal electrical components.
5- Prevent foreign objects and dust, completely prevent foreign objects from entering. Although it cannot completely prevent dust from entering, the amount of dust intrusion will not affect the normal operation of electrical appliances.

2、 The meaning of the IP waterproof grade code for Hengli Motors
0- No protection, no special protection against water or moisture.
1- To prevent water droplets from entering, vertically falling water droplets (such as condensed water) will not cause damage to electrical appliances.
When tilted at 15 degrees, water droplets can still be prevented from entering. When the appliance is tilted from vertical to 15 degrees, water droplets will not cause damage to the appliance,
3- Prevent water from entering, rain proof, or prevent water sprayed in a direction with an angle less than 60 degrees from entering electrical appliances and causing damage.
4- Prevent splashing water from entering and prevent splashing water from all directions from entering electrical appliances and causing damage.
5- Prevent the infiltration of sprayed water and prevent low-pressure water spraying that lasts for at least 3 minutes.
6- Prevent large waves from entering and prevent a large amount of water spraying that lasts for at least 3 minutes.
